Hi friends and family!
After spending a month at the Vermont Studio Center in July/August, the rest of the year was a whirlwind of working and traveling!
Being surrounded by the natural beauty of Vermont in the summer was so refreshing, and Vermont Studio Center was a wonderful utopia! Meeting over 100 other talented artists and writers in such a creatively conducive environment really changed my thinking about what I've been making the last few years.
It brought me back to my art school days of being in constant critique, and the astounding internal growth that can happen in such a short amount of time. I know I'll be thinking about my conversations there for awhile, and can't wait to see how this comes out in my work.
Speaking of being back in college...I've recently accepted a new position as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor at my alma mater, one of the top arts institutions in the world: SAIC (just kidding—MICA!!) I am so excited to help create the same kinds of opportunities for young aspiring artists that I was given in high school!
In October, I was also part of a group show at Artists Circle Fine Art in western Maryland. And in December, I finally made a trip down to Miami and fulfilled a goal of attending Art Basel during Miami Art Week!
I'm always working on multiple projects, and am excited to share more in the coming months—including a new studio, and upcoming solo exhibition!
